Generator Services

Storms in this part of the state are not hypothetical, and neither are the outages that follow them. A generator turns several days without power into an inconvenience instead of an emergency. We install and service home generators throughout Leland and the surrounding areas.

What We Handle

  • Standby generator installation and electrical hookup
  • Automatic and manual transfer switches
  • Portable generator inlets and interlock kits
  • Dedicated circuits for the loads you want backed up
  • Panel work required to support a generator
  • Ongoing service, testing, and troubleshooting

Standby or Portable

Standby Generator

Permanently installed, wired into the home, and started automatically when the power drops. It costs more up front and it asks nothing of you during the outage, which is the whole point at two in the morning.

Portable Generator

Far less expensive, and perfectly workable when it is wired in correctly. That means an inlet and either a transfer switch or an interlock, never an extension cord through a window and never a cord back-feeding an outlet.

*Back-feeding a generator into a household outlet energizes the lines outside your home and puts utility crews at risk. If that is how your generator is currently connected, let us fix it.

Deciding What to Back Up

Most homeowners do not need the entire house running during an outage, and sizing for everything gets expensive quickly. We will walk the house with you and sort out what genuinely matters: the refrigerator, the well pump, heat, a medical device, enough lighting to live normally. That conversation usually saves money.
