Panel Changes & Service Upgrades

The panel is where a house either has enough power or does not. Everything downstream depends on what is in that box and how much capacity reaches the home. We replace panels and upgrade service for homes around Leland that have outgrown what they were built with.

Panel Change or Service Upgrade?

Panel Change

Replacing the panel itself. This is the right fix when the panel is obsolete, unsafe, completely full, or a brand with a known failure history, but the power coming into the house is still adequate.

Service Upgrade

Raising the actual amperage coming into the home, from the utility connection through the meter and into a new panel. This is what you need when the house does not have enough power, not just enough breaker spaces.

Adding a Subpanel

Sometimes the main service is fine and the problem is simply where the circuits need to go. A second panel in a garage, addition, or workshop solves that without touching the utility connection.

Signs Your Home Needs One

  • Breakers that trip regularly under ordinary use
  • A panel with no open spaces left for another circuit
  • Fuses instead of breakers, or a panel brand with known safety issues
  • A 60-amp or 100-amp service running a modern household
  • Lights that dim when the air handler or a large appliance kicks on
  • Extension cords and power strips doing permanent duty
  • Plans to add an EV charger, a generator, or central air
  • Rust, scorching, buzzing, or heat anywhere at the panel

What the Project Involves

We handle the permit and inspection, coordinate the utility disconnect and reconnect, and give you a realistic window for how long the house is without power. You get that number before we start.

When the work is finished every circuit is labeled correctly, which saves the next person a lot of guessing. Two-year warranty on labor and materials, same as everything we do.
