Whole-Home Rewiring
Rewiring is the biggest electrical job a house can go through, and it is almost always the one people put off longest. It is also the one that fixes problems a dozen smaller repairs never will. We rewire homes around Leland in full or in sections, depending on what the house actually needs.
When a Home Needs Rewiring
- Knob and tube wiring still in service behind the walls
- Aluminum branch wiring from the 1960s and 1970s
- Cloth-insulated wiring that has gone brittle with age
- Two-prong outlets with no ground anywhere in the house
- Repeated tripping, flickering, or outlets that quit for no clear reason
- Outlets or switches that feel warm or discolored
- A renovation, addition, or insurance requirement that forces the issue
- Previous work that was clearly done by someone in a hurry
Full or Partial
Not every house needs everything replaced. Plenty of homes have a sound main run and one problem area, usually a kitchen, a bathroom, or an addition someone wired themselves. We will tell you honestly which one you are looking at rather than quoting the biggest version by default.
Where a full rewire is the right answer, we can often stage it room by room so the house stays livable and the cost lands in pieces instead of all at once. If the panel is also out of date, we can pair the rewire with a panel change or service upgrade.
Working in an Occupied House
Rewiring means opening walls and ceilings, and there is no version of it that is invisible. What we can control is how it feels to live through. Work areas get covered, dust gets contained, and we tell you at the start of each day which circuits are coming down and for how long.
